Size
Onesize 120 cm - but can easily be adjusted according to your wishes or amount of yarn.

Recommended yarn
50 g cashmere from Mondial (25g = 115m)
or 50 g cashmere Premium from Lang Yarns
or 50g cashmere from Cardiff

You can easily choose another similar yarn or yarn with a completely different knitting tension. This will only change the size of the scarf. You can also choose to knit it longer if you have more yarn.

I think the following yarn would be really nice for the scarf:

  • Baby Alpaca from Lang Yarns
  • Vaya from Lang yarns
  • Alpaca from Fonty
  • Various beautiful hand-dyed qualities

Knitting strength (after washing and blocking)
This design does not require any specific knitting tension.

The knitting tension of the cashmere yarn is approximately 22/10 in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles.

You will easily be able to use yarn with a knitting tension of 22/10 - 28/10 in stockinette stitch with a good result. In the herringbone pattern, the knitting tension is different.

Guide pins + accessories
Try using a 5.5-6.5 mm needle to get the best texture. I used a 6 mm needle here. Please note that the needle size is large in relation to the thickness of the yarn, as the herringbone pattern will otherwise be very tight and firm. I recommend going about 2 mm up in relation to the yarn's recommended needle.

Rule of thumb (but feel free to experiment):
Yarn with recommended knitting tension 22/10 - 23/10: Needle 6 mm
Yarn with recommended knitting tension 24/10 - 26/10: Needle 5.5 mm
Yarn with recommended knitting tension 27/10 - 28/10: Needle 5 mm
