Nordmann Socks

Size:
36/37 (38/39) 40/41 (42/43).

Note: The shaft circumference is the same on all sizes due to the pattern. There are therefore 56 stitches around on all sizes. If you normally have more stitches than this on a sock, I can recommend taking a thread of alva with the arwetta on the shaft and knitting on half a needle larger. The alva is recommended regardless of size to get a nice pattern knit, I have used it on the socks in the pictures.

There follows a guide for those of you who want a wider shaft than the original pattern can give. The diagram has therefore been adjusted slightly so that it has more stitches and your shaft has 64 stitches. The sock has not been tested with 64 stitches, and this is therefore only seen as a guide for those of you who want more stitches.

Knitting tension:
28 stitches over 10 cm in stocking stitch on 3 mm needles.

Indicative pins:
Needle 3 mm for the shaft + 2.5 mm for the heel and foot.
You can use short circular needles, double pointed needles, magic loop or whatever you prefer to knit socks on.

Yarn suggestions:
50 g arwetta from filcolana (50g = 210m) in color 1 and 50 g in color 2.

Possibly a key of alva in each color for the shaft.

Note: you may need more yarn for some sizes if you knit according to the instructions for 64 stitches.

Procedure
The socks are knitted from the shaft down towards the toe.
