My Best Mittens
The mitten here is a good basic pattern for a mitten. You can always play with adding pattern in the form of pattern knitting or color changes to the mitten. If you are new to knitting, this mitten is also a good beginner project. Fill up the drawer at home with a whole stack of delicious mittens in all sorts of beautiful colors.
If you have nice leftovers, the mitten can also be knitted in stripes with leftovers.

Recommended yarn
The models are knitted in
- Alapaca Sock from Ladybug Yarn (yellow)
- Sock yarn from Farveladen (blue)
- Merino/yak/silk from Its Yarn (gray).
The running length is approximately 366-400m/100g for the above yarns.
Knitting strength (after washing)
21/10. (Here I have doubled the yarn above so that I knit with two strands to achieve the knitting tension).
Yarn quantity
1 single skein (100 g) of regular sock yarn with a running length of approx. 400m per 100 grams. You knit with 2 strands at once.
Possibly a leftover other sock yarn for the rib edge, but it can also be knitted in the same yarn as the rest.
Guiding pins
Circular needles 3.5 mm for the rib and 4.5 mm for the mitten itself. You can use short circular needles (23-25 cm), the magic loop method or double pointed needles.
Workflow
The mittens are knitted from the rib edge up towards the top. Finally, the thumb is knitted.
