Fluffy Ribhue
Fluffy Rib Hat is a super cute ribbed hat with cable ties. It fits well on the head and has a nice and practical fold that provides extra warmth around the ears. The hat is thick enough to keep you warm, but thin enough to be worn under a bike helmet.

Yarn
The models in the pictures are knitted in:
- 1 strand glitter sock color End of season (400m/100g) from Ladybug Yarn + 1 strand Mohair Sport color Caramel (350m/50g) from A Knitters World.
- 1 strand glitter sock color End of season (400m/100g) from Ladybug Yarn +1 strand silkmohair from Krea Deluxe.
- 1 strand of Goldilocks fingering from Yarn Love (342m/113g) + 1 strand of silkmohair from Krea Deluxe.
Yarn alternatives
If you want to knit without mohair, it can also be knitted in
- 1 single thread Pernilla from Filcolana. Here you will need a knitting tension of approx. 22-24/10 in stockinette stitch to achieve the knitting thickness in rib. This will be around needle 3.5-4 mm for most people.
- 1 single thread Cashmere Premium from Langyarn.
- 1 single thread Silk Garden Sock Solo from Noro.
- 1 thread Sunday or Thin Peer Gynt from Sandnes + a thin alpaca follower thread or Alva from Filcolana
Knitting strength
25 sts in width in stocking stitch with 2 strands on 3 mm needles = approx. 32 sts in width in 2x2 rib (measured unstretched).
Indicative yarn quantity
Fingering/sock: approx. 50 (55) 60 grams = 200 (220) 270 meters
Mohair: The same number of meters as fingering/sock should be used, so check the running length of the mohair you are using.
Guiding pins
Circular needle 3 mm 40 cm. - Although this combination of sock yarn and guide thread normally calls for a needle 3.5-4 mm, I go down to a needle 3 mm to get a nice tight piece of knit that keeps the ears warm and gives a good, elastic rib that keeps the hat close to the head.
Always do a test stitch to test that your needle size is correct.
The top of the hat should be knitted either with double pointed needles or magic loop. For magic loop, we recommend a circular needle size 3 mm 80 cm.
Workflow
The hat is knitted from the bottom up.
