Ribbed neck warmer
A simple neck warmer knitted in rib.
Size
One size. Circumference approx. 36 cm, height approx. 20 cm.
Yarn & yarn quantity
Many different combinations can be used, for example:
It could be, for example:
- 2 keys Double Sunday from Sandnes
- 2 skeins Daisy from Drops
You can also knit with thinner yarn held double:
- 2 skeins Sunday from Sandnes (knit with 2 threads together)
- 2 skeins Anina from Filcolana (knit with 2 threads together).
- 2 skeins Arwetta from Filcolana (knit with 2 threads together).
I have knitted the neck warmer in the picture in 1 ball of Sunday from Sandnes held together with 1 ball of Anina from Filcolana. Both in black. I have chosen Sunday because it is not superwash and therefore the elasticity holds a little better, and Anina because it is super soft.
Knitting strength
Approximately 34 stitches in width 10 in the rib pattern.
Recommended needles
Circular needle 3.5 mm 40 cm. Or the needle that gives you the correct knitting tension.
Neck pain recipe
Cast on 120 stitches on needle size 3.5 mm 40 cm.
Join for a round and now work in the round in rib (knit 1, purl 1) until the piece measures 20 cm (or desired length).
Bind off the stitches by either binding off in rib as the stitches show or in Italian bind off (the technique requires a little experience, but you can just bind off in the normal way if that's easiest). Be careful not to make it too tight.
Wash the neck warmer according to the yarn's instructions and let it dry flat until completely dry.
