THIS IS THE ENGLISH VERSION
Sizes
Onesize 120 cm | 47.2 inches – but can easily be modified to your preferences or yarn quantity.
Suggested yarn
50 g cashmere by Mondial (25g = 115m)
or 50 g cashmere Premium by Lang Yarns
or 50 g cashmere by Cardiff
You can easily replace the recommended yarn with similar yarn or yarn with a completely different yardage. Different yarn will result in a different sized scarf. Furthermore, you can choose to make it longer than the pattern states if you have more yarn.
I recon the following yarns would be suitable for a deluxe scarf:
Baby Alpaca by Lang Yarns
Vaya by Lang yarns
Alpaca by Fonty
Any hand dyed yarn
Gauge (after wash and block)
Since the design does not require a certain gauge, I have noted my different gauges.
The gauge in the cashmere yarn is approx. 22/10 in stockinette st using 4 mm (US6) needles. I would recommend a gauge between 22/10 - 28/10 in stockinette st to ensure a good result using the herringbone stitch where the gauge will differ.
Suggested needles + notions
Try using needles 5 - 6 mm (US8-US10) to get a smooth texture. I used 6 mm (US10) needles. Please note that the suggested needles is rather large compared to the thickness of the yarn since the herringbone stitch tends to be tight and sturdy. I recommend using at least 2 mm larger needles than recommended on the yarn.
Rule of thumb (but try it out using your own yarn and needles):
Yarn with a recommended gauge of 22/10 - 23/10: Use 6 mm (US10) needles
Yarn with a recommended gauge of 24/10 - 26/10: Use 5,5 mm (US9) needles
Yarn with a recommended gauge of 27/10 - 28/10: Use 5 mm (US8) needles
